Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has approved Friday, November 7, 2025, as a work-free day for all civil and public servants ahead of the state’s governorship election.
The Head of Service, Theodore Igwegbe, announced the decision in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the move is to enable workers travel to their respective voting locations before the election scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
According to him, the government considers the participation of its workforce in the election as an important civic responsibility and a key contribution to the consolidation of democracy in the state.
He directed all political appointees, permanent secretaries, and heads of ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure that staff members are informed and comply fully with the directive.
