Governor AbdulRazaq Approves Cash Rewards For National Youth Games Medalists

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved financial rewards for athletes who won medals for the State at the last National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State Capital.
Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji made this known during a live interview on Albarika FM on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Mallam Mogaji revealed that the approved rewards include ₦200,000 for gold medalists, ₦150,000 for silver medalists, and ₦100,000 for bronze medalists.
According to him, the gesture reflects the Governor’s commitment to motivating young athletes and strengthening sports development across the state.
The Executive Chairman also highlighted several achievements recorded under Governor AbdulRazaq in the last four months including human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and enhanced global visibility for Kwara athletes.
He listed some of the athletes who have represented Nigeria internationally or made remarkable progress in their sporting careers within the last four months.

Ongoing Sports Infrastructure Projects
Mogaji further disclosed that the state government is currently rehabilitating major sporting facilities, including the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, which is being upgraded to meet CAF standards.
The Sports Commission Arrowhead pointed out that the reconstruction work is ongoing at both the Lafiagi Stadium and Offa Township Stadium, part of a broader plan to ensure that each senatorial district boasts a modern, functional stadium.
He affirmed that these developments underscore Governor AbdulRazaq’s strategic commitment to sports as a tool for youth development, international exposure, and community development.
