 Bayero University Kano Alumni Association, Ilorin Emirate Chapter has mourned the death of Ilorin-born Diplomat and Former IEDPU National President, Ambassador Abdulazeez Uthman.
In a statement by the President of the Alumni, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulrasheed, the Group described the late Ambassador Abdulazeez as a prominent son of Ilorin, whose contribution to Community Development would not be forgotten in a hurry.
The Association explained that the late Diplomat was one of the finest elder statesmen from Ilorin who have distinguished themselves in their careers.
The Alumni explained that the death of the high profile Intelligence officer was a shock to them and said their solace is the fact that Ambassador Abdulazeez Uthman died as a devoted Muslim
The Association commiserated with his immediate family, Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,the entire IEDPU family, and Ilorin as a whole, and prayed to Allah to grant him alljannah Firdaus
Ambassador Abdulazeez Uthman died on Sunday and has been buried according to the muslim rite.
Until his death he was a retired top intelligence officer at the National Intelligence Agency(NIA) and Former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China
