IVTEC 6th Graduation: Governor Abdulrazaq Commissions Startup Equipment Worth Millions Of Naira

Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State today commissioned startup equipment worth millions of naira at the 6th Graduation Ceremony of International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College, Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun Local Government Area of the State.
Commissioning the equipment, Governor Abdulrazaq represented by the State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saadatu Madibbo-Kawu noted that the event is geared towards honouring beneficiaries of the Kwara State sponsored Youth Empowerment.
Governor Abdulrazaq noted that the State Government is empowering the youth through the Employment Generation Scheme (YEEGS), artisans sponsored by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), as well as other direct applicants who have received hands-on vocational and technical training in this institution.
He explained that their success reinforces the State Government’s belief that practical education and skills acquisition are central to sustainable development and economic growth.
The Governor pointed out that IVTEC, Ajase-Ipo stands as a practical expression of his administration’s resolve to tackle youth unemployment, reduce poverty, and empower the people with relevant skills.
According to him, Since 2019, his Government has consistently prioritized technical and vocational education as a critical pillar of human capital development.
Governor Abdulrazaq also stated that since the commencement of the YEEGS Programme in 2021, this institution has trained about 2,000 youths drawn from the 16 Local Government Areas of Kwara State, with more than half of them already empowered with start-up packages fully funded by the Kwara State Government.
He posited that his intervention has enabled many beneficiaries to establish businesses, become self-reliant, and contribute meaningfully to the State’s economy and congratulated the graduating students, their proud parents and guardians, the management, and staff of this institution for making today a success.
In his remark, Rector of the College, Dr Yaru S. Salihu expressed profound appreciation to Governor Abdulrazaq for his unwavering support and steadfast commitment to the growth of the institution.
Dr Salihu acknowledged the Governor’s dedication to revitalizing technical and vocational education in Kwara State and for the Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme (YEEGS), whose 7th and 8th batches are graduating today.
He requested for government’s intervention in the development of critical infrastructure to safeguard the sustainability of the mandate of the College.
Highpoints of the event were presentation of certificates to best graduating students, investiture award for Mrs Shade Omoniyi, Chairman Kwara State Internal Revenue Service KWIRS, Alhaji Dauda Ayinla Ayeyemi. CEO Ayeyemi Palace Hotels, Alhaji Akeem Adejumo CEO of 50/50 and Fortunate Bakeries and CEO solid worth Hotels for their commitment to the development of the College.
