Kwara State Sports Commission has warned warning football lovers and sports enthusiasts across the state to strictly stay away from any form of violence during match days.

This is contained in a statement by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji personally signed by him.

Coach Mogagi emphasized that violence in sports is not only against the spirit of fair play and humanity but also constitutes a serious violation of established sports regulations and international football rules.

According to him, football remains a unifying sport that brings joy, passion, and pride to our communities.

While the Commission appreciates the enthusiasm and unwavering support of fans for their teams, supporters are strongly advised to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner at all times.

He pointed out that the emotions and rivalry must never be allowed to override the values of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship that define the beautiful game.

The Commission therefore cautioned that any individual found engaging in violent acts before, during, or after matches at the George Agbazika Innih Stadium, Ilorin, or any other sporting venue in the state will face strict consequences in line with sports regulations and applicable laws as such persons would be held fully responsible for their actions.

Coach Mogagi reaffirmed the determination of the Commission towards promoting a safe, friendly, and enjoyable sporting environment for players, officials, and supporters alike.

He encouraged fans to continue supporting football and other sporting activities in the state peacefully and responsibly.
