Muslims have been cautioned against extravagant spending in their wedding ceremonies to insulate them from incurring Allah’s wrath.

Imam of Irewolede Muslim Community, Ilorin, Ibrahim Adebayo gave the caution while delivering a lecture on the topic ” Islamic Solution For Curbing Extravagant Spending During Nikkah Ceremonies Among Muslims” at the ongoing Ramadan Lecture Series organized by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria IMAN in Ilorin.

Imam Adebayo observed that some marriages are procastinated as a result of parents penchant for ostentatious weddings.

He charged Muslims to always organize simple weddings for their children and wards as ordained by Allah to fast-track marriages and forestall fornication in the society.

The Islamic Scholar condemned some Muslim parents that over-labour potential husbands of their daughters with unrealistic marriage items and described such as unacceptable in Islam.

The Imam enjoined Muslims to always ensure strict budgeting for moderate wedding ceremonies instead of incurring preventable debts.

Meanwhile, the lecture continues today with the topic “Importance Of Companionship In Islam” to be delivered by Imam Fatimoh Jumma’ah Masjid, Opo-Malu, Ilorin, Imam Ali Bawa at IMAN Centre New Yidi Road Ilorin beginning at 4: 30pm.
