National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) in Kwara State, has mourned the passing of one of its great leaders, Barrister AbdulRahman AbdulMalik.
AbdulMalik, formally of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Kwara State Televised died on Sunday, 5th April, 2026.
The janazah prayer was held on Monday at the Onimasa compound, Kuntu, Ilorin after which his remains were interred at the Muslim Cemetery, Oko- Olowo, Ilorin.
The NALVEJ, in a Condolence signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi and publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin, described the death of AbdulMalik as very painful.
It recalled that AbdulMalik attended the monthly meeting of the association last Wednesday during which he was appointment as the chairman of NALVEJ Electoral Committee.
He was also the chairman of NALVEJ Constitution Drafting Committee.
The association described the deceased as a fine journalist who discharged his duties professionally with honor and dignity during his active years in the practicing of journalism.
It further described AbdulMalik as a peaceful and community spirited personality who always contributed his best to the development of fellow colleagues and the society at large.
The NALVEJ commiserated with the Ilorin Emirate, the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ), the Kwara State University, Malete, and the Onimasa family over the demise of AbdulMalik.
Untill his death, AbdulMalik was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete.
The fidau prayer for the repose of the soul of the deceased will hold on Friday at Onimasa compound, Kuntu, Ilorin at 10am.
