Kwara Commences Airlift Of Intending Pilgrims Next Month

Airlift of intending pilgrims from Kwara State is to commence on the sixteenth of next month from General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin to Saudi Arabia.

Executive Secretary, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir stated this today at the enlightenment programme organized for all its intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj, held at the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board’s premises, Ilorin.

The Executive Secretary said the second batch of pilgrims will depart on the seventh, while the third batch will depart on the ninth of next month.

Alhaji Abdulkadir also disclosed that Saudi Arabia has produced ID cards containing pilgrims’ details, which will be issued to them upon arrival in Medina to enable them perform their Hajj rites in Mecca.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support in ensuring a smooth Hajj operation for the state.

Professor Mahmud-Jimba expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful preparations, noting that the Governor had sustained his commitment to facilitating seamless Hajj operations.

The Chairman of the Board further disclosed that in Saudi Arabia, accommodation, transportation and tents at Mina and Arafat had been secured and were ready for the exercise.

In his lecture, the Grand Khadi, Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen advised the intending pilgrims to perform his or her Hajj with fear of Allah.

Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen tasked them to be patient while in the Holy land to have a successful Hajj exercise.

The prayer was led by Imam Imale of Ilorin, Shaikh Abdulhameed Abdullahi and assisted by Imam Gambari, Ajanasi Agba of Ilorin, and this year’s Amir Hajj, Etsu Tsaragi, Alhaji Aliyu Abdullahi Kpotwa.
