The people Kwara-South have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election and Senator Sulaiman Umar Sadiq from Kwara-North as next Governor of Kwara State.
They made the endorsement at the Kwara-South Town Hall Meeting Hosted by Kwara-South All Progressives Congress APC Elders Forum held at ODU Hall, Offa, Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Speaking at the Town Hall Meeting, Chairman Kwara-South APC Elders Forum, James Bamishaiye said the entire elders in Kwara-South including Ibolo, Igbomina and Ekiti declared support for Senator Sulaiman Umar Sadiq to become the next Governor of the state.
Bamiashaiye pointed out that the Town Hall Engagement was not just about official declaration of support for Senator Sadiq, it is a renewing hope, restoring fairness and reaffirming their collective commitment to justice and equity.
According to him, for close 28 years, a significant part of the state, Kwara-North Senatorial District has been denied the opportunity to occupy the highest office in the state.
The Chairman maintained that Kwara-South APC Elders Forum has taken the decision to support Kwara-North since 2024 as Royal Fathers in Kwara-South gathered in Ajase-Ipo and unanimously endorsed Kwara-North to produce next Governor in the state.
In his remark, Professor Abiodun Afolayan charged the people of Kwara-South to return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for second term and consider Senator Sulaiman Umar Sadiq as next Governor.
In his submission, Former Commissioner for Water Resources in the state, Alhaji Abdulmumin Katibi encouraged party loyalists to come out enmass to cast their votes for Senator Sadiq in the forthcoming APC direct primaries.
Also, Former General Manager of Radio Kwara, Ilorin, Alhaji Abdul-lateef Adebowale Adedeji canvased support for Senator Sulaiman Umar Sadiq for fairness and inclusiveness.
Other stakeholders from 3 Senatorial Districts of state pledged their unflinching support for the candidature of Senator Sulaiman Umar Sadiq as next Governor to consolidate on the sterling achievements of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq.
