OYDF Reaches Hundreds With Free Community Health Outreach In Oniyere

Oniyere Youth Development Forum (OYDF) has successfully conducted the third edition of its community health outreach programme, providing free medical services to residents of Oniyere and neighboring Bello Ra community during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The outreach offered a range of healthcare services, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing, malaria and hepatitis screening, medical consultations, health counseling, and the distribution of basic medications.

Speaking after the exercise, the Project Coordinator, Mr. Abeeb Oredunni, described the initiative as part of the Forum’s commitment to improving access to healthcare and promoting healthy living among residents.

One of the medical volunteers, Dr. Emmanuel Ogunrinde, commended the Forum for its consistency in organizing the outreach, noting that community-based health interventions remain vital in improving public health awareness.

The exercise also led to the discovery of some positive hepatitis cases. According to the organizers, affected individuals were referred to nearby hospitals for further medical evaluation and management. The Forum further disclosed that it intends to follow up on the cases to ensure that beneficiaries receive the necessary care and support.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the organizers for the initiative. Mrs. Sikiratu Kasali described the outreach as a timely intervention that has brought healthcare closer to the people, while Mr. Saadudeen Taiye commended the Forum for its dedication to community development and prayed for greater success in future editions.

Residents and stakeholders who witnessed the exercise lauded the Forum for sustaining the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of community service and collective responsibility toward improving the well-being of the people.
