As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, Hon. Yakub Babatunde Ajadi Prudent, a frontline aspirant for the Ilorin East/South Federal House of Representatives seat, formally submitted his letter of intent to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ilorin South Local Government Area, at the party’s secretariat in the Sango area of Ilorin.
Hon. Ajadi Prudent said his interest is to better the lives of the people in his constituency.
As a former Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, he has contributed to the educational, political, economic, and social development of the area.
He cited his various pro-masses programmes which includes facilitation of youth empowerment programs in Ilorin East/South during his time.
While speaking with journalists immediately after submitting his letter of intent, Hon. Yakubu Babatunde Ajadi Prudent said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to win from the ward to the national level in the forthcoming general election.
He praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s developmental initiatives, including the student loan scheme and economic reforms that have transformed the educational sector in the last three years.
Hon Ajadi Prudent He also noted that the federal government’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Fund has opened up rural communities in Kwara, a model he intends to replicate for constituency projects.
The Aspirant further eulogized the various infrastructure projects of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara State, which he believes will lead the APC to victory at the polls.
He specifically commended the governor’s Ilorin Smart City project and rural road interventions in Ilorin South, stating they have set a standard for grassroots development.
Hon. Ajadi Prudent promised to ensure gender equality in his developmental initiatives if he emerges as the party’s candidate.
He pledged to reserve 40% of empowerment slots for women and youth and to sponsor a constituency bill on girl-child education if elected.
He was warmly received by the APC Chairman, Alhaji Adisa Jaji, alongside Vice Chairman Alhaji Akeem Habali Jaji, Secretary Garba Baba Rafiu, Chairman of Chairmen Alhaji Farouk Suleiman Oladimeji, Zulukanini Baba Olona, other party executives, and supporters.
The APC Ilorin South Local Government Party Chairman appreciated the youthfulness of the aspirant and expressed confidence that he would succeed. The chairman charged the aspirant not to let the people down if he emerges as the party candidate and subsequently wins at the poll.
He emphasized the need for unity among party members and called for sportsmanship among all aspirants.
