NAKSS Senate Council Announces Dates For 2026 Valedictory Parliamentary Week In Honour Of Kwara Speaker

Senate Council of the National Association of Kwara State Students, NAKSS, National Headquarters, has announced that its Valedictory Parliamentary Week for 2026 will hold from August 3rd to August 7th.

A  Statement signed by the Senate President, Senator Abdullahi Biogera Issa, and the Senate Clerk, Senator Idowu Praise Oluwafemi said this year’s edition will be held under the theme “Celebrating Legislative Leadership and Advancing Sustainable Youth Development.

The Statement said theme, reflects the Council’s focus on leadership, service, and youth-driven growth in Kwara State.

The week-long event is being organised in honour of the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

The Senate Council described the Speaker as a symbol of Legislative Excellence and youth representation in the state.

It explained that the Valedictory Parliamentary Week will mark the final official engagement of the current Senate Council under his leadership.

The Statement noted that the Programme is designed to celebrate legislative service and highlight the council’s contributions to student and youth development.

The five-day programme will feature a range of activities aimed at community impact and capacity building.

These include environmental sustainability projects, community outreach programmes, and indoor sports competitions for students across the state.

Other highlights include legislative capacity building sessions, the unveiling of the Senate Council’s official magazine, and the grand Valedictory Parliamentary Sitting.

The week will conclude with an Honours Ceremony to recognize outstanding contributions to legislative and youth development.

The Senate Council stated that the capacity building sessions are expected to equip student leaders with skills in governance, policy, and public service.

The magazine launch will also document the achievements and key moments of the current Senate Council.

The Council called on NAKSS members, stakeholders, and members of the public to take note of the dates and participate in the activities.
