A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG), has extolled the values and virtues of the departed Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, Malam Nafiu Baba Ahmed, who died in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a condolence jointly signed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim, and National Secretary, Dr. Nasir Balogun, the Group described the sudden exit of the legal luminary as a great loss to the entire nation.
The statement described Malam Baba Ahmed as an outstanding legal practitioner and banker who contributed immensely to the progress of Islam not only in Nigeria but across Africa.
It also identified the deceased as a patriotic, peace-loving, humble, courageous and dedicated servant of Allah who spent his life in service to Almighty Allah.
The Islamic organisation called on Muslims to emulate the good conduct of Malam Baba Ahmed to earn Allah’s continued blessings.
The Media Group also advised members of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria to sustain the struggle for the practical implementation of Islamic Personal Law as guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution, irrespective of geo-political zones.
The MMWG finally prayed for Allah’s forgiveness of the sins of Malam Nafiu Baba Ahmed and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
