The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has charged the players, technical crew, and management of Kwara United Football Club to go all out and win the 2025 Federation Cup final for the state.
Mallam Mogaji made the remarks while addressing the team on June 12, 2025, at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl, George Agbazika Innih Sports Complex, Ilorin.
He announced that the state government, under the leadership of His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has approved the payment of match bonuses covering the quarter-final, semi-final, and the upcoming final scheduled for June 28, 2025, at the iconic Onikan Stadium, Lagos, where Kwara United will face Abakaliki United of Ebonyi State.
To further motivate the players, Mallam Mogaji pledged an additional ₦500,000 reward for the team if they lift the trophy, in recognition of the Governor’s unwavering investment in sports and the team’s commitment this season.
In a show of solidarity and to ensure massive fan support, Mogaji revealed that the Sports Commission would provide three buses to transport supporters from Kwara State to Lagos. In addition, 200 branded round necks will be distributed to fans traveling from Kwara, as well as to supporters residing in Lagos, to create a lively and united atmosphere in the stands.
Furthermore, Kwara United players will each receive specially branded “Champions Kwara United” round necks to commemorate what could become a historic victory for the club.
During the interactive session, the Chairman of Kwara United, Mr. Kunbi Titiloye, assured the Sports Commission and the supporters that the club has fulfilled all financial obligations to the players. To confirm, he asked the squad directly: “Are we owing you any money?” The players responded in unison: “No!”
Mallam Mogaji concluded by promising even more surprises for the players if they emerge victorious in the final, encouraging them to etch their names in history for Kwara United and the entire state.
Kwara United will be chasing their first-ever Federation Cup title, and excitement is mounting across Kwara as preparations gear up ahead of the eagerly awaited clash in Lagos.
