The Dialogue, hosted by Sen. Abdullahi Biogera Issa, President of the NAKSS Senate Council, brought together student leaders, policymakers, and civic actors to explore the intersections of legislative leadership, youth participation, and civic responsibility.
In his opening remarks, the Senate President welcomed attendees and set the tone for a thoughtful exchange, emphasising the importance of student involvement in governance and the value of practical dialogue in understanding legislative processes.
His talk, titled “Speaking Up or Sitting Out? Media, Student Leadership, and Legislative Participation in Kwara State Today,” examined the vital role of media in shaping public awareness, influencing policy priorities, and engaging youth in governance.
The event was held in honour of Hon. (Barr.) Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, Majority Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, at the NBA Hall, State High Court, Ilorin, on Tuesday, 23rd December, recognising his distinguished legislative service and consistent support for youth engagement in governance.
