Students, Leaders, Media Converge To Honour Kwara Majority Leader Hon Oba Abdulkadir Magaji At NAKSS 2025 Parliamentary Dialogue

Students, leaders, and media practitioners converged at the 2025 Annual Parliamentary Dialogue organised by the Senate Council of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), National Headquarters.
The event was held in honour of Hon. (Barr.) Oba Abdulkadir Magaji, Majority Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, at the NBA Hall, State High Court, Ilorin, on Tuesday, 23rd December, recognising his distinguished legislative service and consistent support for youth engagement in governance.
The Dialogue, hosted by Sen. Abdullahi Biogera Issa, President of the NAKSS Senate Council, brought together student leaders, policymakers, and civic actors to explore the intersections of legislative leadership, youth participation, and civic responsibility.
In his opening remarks, the Senate President welcomed attendees and set the tone for a thoughtful exchange, emphasising the importance of student involvement in governance and the value of practical dialogue in understanding legislative processes.
A highlight of the event was the lecture delivered by Mall. Abdullateef Lanre Ahmed, Chairman of the Kwara State Council of NUJ.
His talk, titled “Speaking Up or Sitting Out? Media, Student Leadership, and Legislative Participation in Kwara State Today,” examined the vital role of media in shaping public awareness, influencing policy priorities, and engaging youth in governance.
The lecture drew widespread attention for its insightful exploration of how journalism can drive student involvement in legislative matters.

Moderated by Dr Sherrif Dayo Ibrahim, the session maintained a lively and focused discussion on legislative awareness, civic responsibility, and practical steps students can take to engage in governance.
The panellists’ contributions, combined with the moderator’s skilful guidance, kept the audience engaged and energised throughout the session.
The Dialogue concluded with interactive audience sessions, networking, and a group photograph, leaving participants inspired to apply the lessons and ideas discussed.
The 2025 NAKSS Parliamentary Dialogue reinforced the importance of students, media, and leadership working together to shape a progressive Kwara State. Phodio, Rt. Hon.
