Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria has called on citizens of Nigeria to always remember their exit from this world remains unknown and live life of spiritual devotion to Almighty God.
The Group was reacting to the reported death over the weekend of Imam Abubakar Abdullahi of Gidan Akwati, Barkin Ladi Local Government of Plateau State in a condolence message endorsed by its National Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi.
It recalled how the Late Imam Abdullahi was the one who saved hundreds of Christians some years back when communal riot broke-out sometimes ago in Plateau State.
The Islamic Organization said the humanitarian gesture of the deceased, Late Imam Abubakar Abdullahi was honoured nationally and internationally.
Alhaji Abdullahi extolled the virtues of the Imam who saved lots of Christians who were being pursued to be hacked to death by their assailants some years back and described his action as being in consonance with the teachings of Islam.
According to him, his action that saved the lives of Christians from their assailants demonstrated how Islam regard human lives as sacred and innocent lives must not be terminated unjustly
He described as nonsensical the belief in some quarters that Islam encourages terrorism as the action of the Late Imam vindicated the Muslims that Islam abhors insurgency and all forms of criminalities.
The Group recalled several incidents in the lifetime of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in which non-muslims especially Christians and Jews were protected.
He warned on the falsehood and blackmail of Muslims by some non-muslims and described them as unpatriotic and irresponsible elements who promote disunity and instability in the Country.
The Group identified the departed Imam Abubakar Abdullahi as a great Ambassador of Islam whose kindness to Christians under distress as evidence of facts that proved that Muslims are amiable and responsible citizens who could be relied upon anytime and they regard all human-beings as one irrespective of religious differences.
While praying for the forgiveness of the departed Imam, the Group urged all non-muslims in Nigeria not to allowed themselves to be misled or deceived on the true character of Muslims as Muslims doing good to non-muslims is part of what would earn them good rewards in this world and hereafter..
