The Senate is pushing a bill to establish a commission solely responsible for conducting local government elections in the country.
The bill, which was sponsored by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Sani Musa (Niger-East), was read for the first time on Thursday.
The title reads, “Local Government Independent Electoral Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024.”
