APC governors have met with the National Working Committee of the ruling party and endorsed the timetable for its forthcoming congresses and national convention.
The meeting, held on Wednesday night, was between members of the Progressive Governors Forum and the APC National Working Committee led by the party’s national chairman.
Speaking after the closed-door session, Chairman of the Forum and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, said the governors approved the timetable earlier endorsed by the party’s National Executive Committee for ward, local government, state, zonal congresses, and the national convention.
The governors also commended the party leadership for its ongoing electronic membership registration, citing increased youth participation and the integration of National Identity Number verification.
According to the Forum, the digital registration process will enhance grassroots engagement, improve data-driven planning, and strengthen internal party administration.
The governors reaffirmed their commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and accountability, while stressing the need for proper financial coordination during the conduct of the congresses nationwide.
They also pledged unity and discipline within the party and announced plans for strategic state visits to strengthen party structures, beginning with Taraba State.
The governors of Taraba and Plateau States were formally welcomed into the Progressive Governors Forum.
Several APC governors attended the meeting, while others were represented by their deputies.
