Muslims have again been reminded to observe the Ramadan fast in line with prophetic tradition.
Assistant Chief Registrar, Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Ilorin, Uztaz Lukman Salihu Olohuntoyin Muhammad gave the reminder while delivering a lecture on the topic “How To Fast Right” at the ongoing Ramadan Lecture Series organized by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria IMAN in Ilorin.
Uztaz Lukman S.O Muhammad who traced fasting to the life time of Prophet Musa cautioned Muslims against acts that could invalidate their fast.
He identified Ramadan as one of the pillars of Islam, mandatory for Muslims to attain piety and charged religious leaders to refrain from unguarded outbursts that could disintegrate Muslims.
The Islamic Scholar applauded the Founder of IMAN, Justice Abdulkadir Orire and others who had contributed tremendously to the sustenance of the faith-based organization.
In his remark, Guest of Honour, Dr Oba Hassan Kadir recounted the successes recorded by IMAN since inception and called for concerted efforts towards completion of its auditorium.
Other participants at the lecture called for decorum among contemporary Islamic Scholars who prioritize monetary gains above Islamic propagation.
Meanwhile, the lecture continues today with the topic ” Islamic Concept Of Taxation: A Review Of New Tax Reform In Nigeria ” to be delivered by an Accountant, Kwara State Pension Board, Imam Mustapha Taiye Agaka at IMAN Centre beginning at half past four in the evening.
