A historic digital economy pact has been sealed between the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
The pact will provide Nigerian businesses stronger channels to access digital solutions, technology opportunities, capacity development, and government-supported digital initiatives, while NITDA gets a more direct and structured pathway to understand enterprises’ technology needs and translate national digital policies into practical business outcomes.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing took place on Thursday on the sidelines of GITEX Nigeria 2026 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, Director-General/CEO of NITDA, and Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng., mni, OON, National President of NACCIMA, bringing together two critical forces in Nigeria’s digital economy.
The partnership strengthens NACCIMA’s position as a strategic bridge between government and the business community, enabling its vast network of Chambers, businesses and sectoral stakeholders to participate more meaningfully in Nigeria’s digital transformation.
In the longer term, the partnership will create a sustainable demand-to-supply ecosystem in which market realities increasingly shape government digital initiatives, Nigerian enterprises become stronger adopters and developers of technology, and digital innovation translates into increased productivity, investment, competitiveness, jobs, and new economic opportunities.
The MoU recognises the fact that Nigeria cannot build a $1 trillion economy without a digitally enabled and globally competitive private sector. The NITDA–NACCIMA partnership represents a bridge between government capability and business demand and between Nigeria’s digital ambition and its economic future.
It establishes a new partnership architecture to seamlessly connect government and business, unlocking Nigeria’s digital economic potential and accelerating the journey towards a $1 trillion economy.
