Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) has pledged its continued support to members just as it presented N2.5m to family of members who died in an accident that occurred on the first of May, this year.
The National President of the Union, Comrade Ado Minjibri gave the charge at Araromi Opin, headquarters of Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State while speaking during a visit to the area to commiserate with families of the deceased and those injured in the accident.
Comrade Ado Minjibri who was represented by Deputy President Comrade Goodluck Ofobruku, said the Union as a responsible organization would always cater for the welfare of its members.
The National President explained that the Union do not only agitate for increase in salary, but always show concerns for the members when passing through difficult and hard time.
He condoled with families of the deceased, the Kwara State Council of the Union and the government for the loss.
Comrade Ado Minjibri used the occasion to called on the Kwara State government to always assist in reaching out to the affected families for the children to live normal and comfortable life.
On his part, the Chairman, Ekiti LGA Hon Gabriel Olayinka Awelewa thanked the leadership of the Union at the State and the National levels for their support to the families pledging that the government would not repent in doing it part.
The National Vice President North Central, Comrade Muritala Saheed Olayinka who also doubles as the Kwara State NLC Chairman, and the State Council Chairman of the Union, Comrade Bolatito Isaac applauded the leadership of the Union for their prompt response and for standing with them during the trying period.
They wished the injured victims quick recovery and pledged to always stand with members at all times.
In their letter of appreciation, the leadership of Kwara State Council expressed gratitude and highest commendations to the National Leadership for their swift and compassionate intervention in providing financial assistance of N2.5m to the Branch Union injured members and Deceased Families who were recently involved in a tragic accident while returning to their houses from May Day Celebration.
The letter jointly signed by its State Chairman, Comrade Bolatito Isaac Oladele and State Secretary, Comrade Rose I. Momoh noted that the immediate responsiveness and generous support during the challenging time have brought immense relief to the affected members and their families.
It added that the benevolent act is a powerful demonstration of exemplary leadership, solidarity, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of every member within our great Union.
Also in a letter of appreciation signed by the HOD Health, Ekiti LGA on behalf of the Council Chairman, Comrade Suleiman Kikelomo sincerely appreciated the National Medical and Health Workers Union for standing with them during the difficult time.
The HOD noted that the act of love, compassion, and solidarity will not be forgotten.
