All is set for the 49th Edition of the Media Parliament of Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) holding tomorrow (Thursday) in Ilorin, the state capital.
The state Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, will serve as the Chairman of the occasion.
The 49th edition of the media parley has the Executive Chairman of the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, Hadji Abdulrasheed Oluwafemi Yusuf, as the Guest Speaker.
The event will take place at the NUJ Press Centre, No. 28, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin, beginning at 12 noon.
In a statement issued, the Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ Media Parliament Committee, Fatima Rasheed and Sodiq Adebara respectively said the session will focus on the theme, “Grassroots Governance: Reasserting Local Government Administration in Kwara.”
According to the statement, the Media Parliament will provide an opportunity for journalists and stakeholders to examine the role of local governments in grassroots development, effective administration and improved service delivery to the people.
The Chairman of the Kwara State Council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, will host the event.
The statement urged members of the state NUJ to attend in large numbers and be punctual.
