Gateway 2024: Otunba Ajagbe Lauds Squash Standard

Former Vice President Squash Federation of Africa and President Nigeria Squash Federation, Otunba Olufemi Ajagbe has lauded the standard of the game in the ongoing National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games Ogun 2024.
Otunba Otunba Ajagbe made this assertion while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the Alake sports center Abeokuta.
He noted that, the standard and dynamics of the game has improved drastically compared to the past as players are now exposed to competing in various championships like PSA, Satellite and others.
The Squash Expert stressed that, catching them young at the grassroots is very imperative as it has contributed immensely to the medal haul of Lagos state in all categories.
Otunba Ajagbe explained that he will be delighted to see Squash at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and will be a great feat to see team Nigeria competing.
He praised the officials and coaches for job well done as he rated the officiating high.
The Former Vice President of Squash Federation commended the host state, members of MOC, LOC and stakeholders for the provision of standard facilities and equipments.
He however enjoined the stakeholders to improve on areas where lapses were observed before next edition in Enugu.
