Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards prioritizing health sector in the state.
Governor Abdulrazaq gave this indication at the Get-together of National League of Veteran Journalists, Kwara State Chapter held at NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin.
Represented by his Special Adviser and Councilor, Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen, the Governor said his administration has invested hugely in the health sector particularly upgrade of Primary Healthcare Centres equipped with modern facilities across 193 wards of the state.
He noted that his investment in the health sector propelled Kwara to 3 times first position in quality healthcare in the North Central region of the Country and identified with NALVEJ for successful Get-together ceremony.
In her remark, Commissioner for Communications in the state, Mrs Bolanle Olukoju counseled journalists on strict professionalism and avoid actions that could bring their calling to disrepute.
Mrs Olukoju applauded journalists for being supportive to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s led administration.
Also, Former Commissioner for Information and Home affairs in the state, Oloriewe Abdulraheem Adedoyin charged Media Practitioner to always circumspect in their undertakings to achieve desired results particularly querying politicians seeking public offices.
Oloriewe Adedoyin explained that journalists have the responsibility of setting agenda for the populace to enable them make political choices.
He congratulated the NALVEJ for the successful Get-together and observed that the veterans are putting experiences on the table for the younger ones coming behind
In his address of welcome, Chairman NALVEJ in the state, Alhaji Muhammad Tunde Akanbi said the Get-together was a social gathering of veterans to wine and dine together.
Alhaji Akanbi urged online media practitioners to always fact check their reports before to publishing to guard against unprofessional conduct and thanked Governor Abdulrazaq for his gesture to the veteran journalists in the state.
