Rotary Club of Ilorin Prestige has inaugurated Rtn. Adepeju Rodah Obaniyi as its 7th President.
The inauguration and investiture ceremony took place in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The event drew Rotarians, community leaders, and guests who gathered to witness the transition and set the agenda for the new Rotary year.
In her inaugural address, Rtn. Adepeju Rodah Obaniyi pledged to run all inclusive leadership anchored on selfless service as her administration would service to humanity.
Rtn Obaniyi vowed to build on the foundation laid by previous executive members of the club.
In her Speech, immediate Past President, Rtn. Adepeju Latifat Sarumi, expressed appreciation to members for their support during her tenure.
Rtn Sarumi noted that the Club executed meaningful projects under her leadership and congratulated the new President on her well-deserved elevation and urged her to continue from where the last administration stopped.
She also called on members to give the new leadership the same cooperation and commitment that made past projects successful.
In her Opening Remarks, Rtn. Omolola Dare of the Rotary Club of Ilorin Sunrise described the ceremony as another milestone in the history of the club.
She charged the new President to justify the confidence reposed in her by members and the wider Rotary community.
Rtn. Dare outlined key areas of focus for the year, including community outreach, gender advocacy, free medical services, and youth empowerment.
Guest Speaker, Dr. Michael Oguntoye, urged Rotarians to think beyond short-term activities and embark on legacy projects that will outlive their tenure.
He noted that leadership positions are temporary, but the impact of service can be long-lasting when projects are well planned and sustainable.
Dr. Oguntoye stressed the importance of measurable impact, community participation, and partnerships in delivering Rotary’s objectives.
He encouraged the club to lead with integrity and develop signature projects that address real community needs.
On Rotary guiding principles, he reminded members of the organization’s mission to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance goodwill and peace through fellowship.
Also Speaking, President Elect, Rotary Club of Ilorin New Dawn, Rtn Folashade Yetunde Fatoyinbo said the objective the club is to foster the ideal of service delivery.
Rtn Fatoyinbo also identified building friendships for service, high ethical standards in work advancing world peace and promoting of healthy living as integral part of objective.
The investiture ceremony featured the presentation of a certificate to the immediate past President, Rtn. Adepeju Latifat Sarumi, by Ayo Olagunju.
There was also stage performance by Visual and Performing Arts students of Kwara State University, Malete, which added colour to the occasion.
Awards were presented to deserving Rotarians in recognition of their contributions to the club.
