A Faith-based Organization, Islamic Missionaries’ Association of Nigeria (IMAN), has called for more strategic and strenuous efforts to end insecurity in Nigeria.
In a statement today in Ilorin Headquarters of the Association which was jointly signed by its National Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Nurudeen and the Secretary Mallam Sulaiman Abolaji Ahmed, the Association lamented that the insecurity which started with Boko-Haram attacks since 2009 has graduated to deepening situation with varied acts of criminality.
The Association wondered why it has been difficult to wipe-out violent crimes in the Nigerian Society and charged Federal, States and Local Governments across the Country to take security as their highest priority, bearing in mind that protection of people and property is the highest responsibility of Government to the people.
While reacting to Christian Association of Nigeria [CAN]’s allegation of Christian genocide in Nigeria, IMAN described the allegations as untrue as non-muslims who have commercialized their religious activities and wanting to benefit from from western world, were spreading falsehood and dangerous religious propaganda to secure funds for their personal use
It said such attitudes are highly irreligious and sacrilegious and condemned the escalation of security problems in Nigeria to USA prompting the US President to threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria.
The Association therefore called on true Muslims and Christians in Nigeria to unite and fight disunity which is capable of prolonging and exacerbating the current insecurity in Nigeria
It stated that the benefit of several Inter-Faith dialogues being held in Nigeria jointly by both Muslims and Christians should continue to sustain National unity and stability.
The Islamic Organization which specifically condemned Eruku Church attack described the incident as unfortunate, sympathized with the people of the Community and tasked government to strengthen security intelligence towards tracking the criminal elements.
On the abduction of 25 Muslim girls of Government Comprehensive Girls College in Maga Kebbi State, IMAN called on all State Governments in the North to provide 24 hours security for their boarding Schools or suspend boarding facilities for now,
IMAN explained that stating the abductors have always used midnight to carry-out their nefarious act of kidnapping urged government to put an end to the ugly incidents of abduction and kidnapping all over Nigeria.
