Senator representing Kwara Central, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their coordinated efforts that led to the release of 38 abducted church worshippers in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Nasif Sholagberu, the senator welcomed the news of the victims’ freedom, describing the development as a significant boost to ongoing efforts against terrorism and banditry.
He said the swift intervention by the Federal Government reflected the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration to tackling insecurity and safeguarding citizens.
Senator Mustapha highlighted the role of the Office of the National Security Adviser in the operation, noting that its involvement depicts the government’s resolve to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public confidence in national security measures.
He also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his proactive leadership and close collaboration with security agencies and federal authorities, which contributed to the safe return of the abductees.
According to him, the governor’s approach demonstrates a strong dedication to protecting lives and property in the state.
The senator acknowledged the professionalism displayed by the security agencies that executed the rescue and urged the public to remain vigilant by providing timely information that can support security efforts.
He added that addressing insecurity requires both government action and community cooperation.
Senator Mustapha also encouraged traditional rulers to strengthen security surveillance within their domains and align with government strategies aimed at safeguarding communities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives at both federal and state levels to fortify security infrastructure, including legislative backing for improved intelligence gathering, security funding and community policing.
