Retired Deputy Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Alhaji Ibrahim Saad has called on government at all levels to find a lasting solution to the perennial insecurity plaguing the Nation.
Alhaji Saad made the call while delivering a lecture on the topic ” Insecurity In Nigeria In 21st Century: Causes and Solutions” at the ongoing Ramadan Lecture Series organized by Islamic Missionaries Association of Nigeria IMAN in Ilorin.
He attributed the unabated security challenges to lack of political will and insincerity on the part part of constituted authority.
The Ex Immigration Officer tasked the government to deploy sophisticated technology and border fencing to curtail the insecurity.
In his remark, Chairman of the Occasion, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi condemned deradicalization and release of bandits from detention as such hampered the fight against insecurity.
Similarly, Former Director, Public Prosecution, Kwara State Ministry of Justice, Barrister Abdulmumin Jimoh observed that non implementation of Local Government Autonomy, corruption and greed contributed to insecurity in Nigeria and called for concerted efforts to address the problems.
Meanwhile, the lecture continues today with the topic ” Islamic Approach To Anti-Corruption Crude In Nigeria” to be delivered by Vice Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Professor Abdul-lateef Oladimeji at IMAN Centre, beginning at 4:30pm.
