Kwara Judiciary Reassures Commitment To Quick Dispensation Of Justice

Kwara State Judiciary has reassured its commitment to justice delivery and judicial reforms having kick-started the commemoration of 2024/2025 Legal year with a special court session on Tuesday at the State High Court.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, applauded the judiciary for its vast commitment to upholding justice.
He noted that the strong relationship between the executive and judicial arms had led to key notable achievements, including the smooth and continuous operation of the recently established small claims Court.

The Governor congratulated the newly appointed judges, expressing that the present administration had, in the last five years, appointed 11 High Court judges while also administering the Oath of Office to the current Chief Judge and Grand Khadi.
Governor Abdulrazaq asserted that the judicial welfare remained a top priority as government has begun constructing a modern courthouse named after Kwara’s first Chief Judge, Justice Saidu Kawu.

 

AbdulRazaq also congratulated the Kwara citizens recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, as well as law professors and other distinguished honorees. He urged them to continue making the state proud.
With the new legal year underway, the session reassured the government’s resolve to strengthen the judiciary and enhance access to justice across all court levels in Kwara State.
The State Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara expressed gratitude to the State Governor, AbdulRazaq, for his undaunted support of the Judiciary.

He said the harmonious relationship between the Judiciary and the Executive in Kwara State is a testament to the shared commitment to democracy, justice, and the welfare of our citizens.
Justice Adebara reassured the Judiciary’s commitment to upholding justice and efficiency as the ongoing construction of a modern courthouse, comprising 10 courtrooms and chambers, will significantly ease space limitation upon completion.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman Esq enjoined the State Chief Judge to continuously aspire his quest to reform the system .
The Attorney General, eulogized the judges of the state high court for the sacrifices and national role in assuring the dispensation of the law without fear or favour despite the exigency of time and the binding factor.
Representing the newly appointed and introduced high court judges, Justice Ibijoke Olawoyin thanked the Governor for their appointments.
He promised that they would not betray the trust and confidence bestowed on them and would do their best to unfold justice with all their might.
The New Judges introduced are Justice Ibijoke Olawoyin, Justice Fatimah Funsho Abdulrazaq, Justice Yusuf Adebayo DIkko, Justice Temitope Olalekan Osuolale- Ajayi and Justice Muritala Oba Folorunsho.
The event marked a significant stride in the evolution of Kwara’s judicial system, setting the pace for a more efficient and accessible legal framework in the state.
