Kwara State Government has described Bartholomew College of Health Technology, Shao, as a crucial citadel of learning producing quality human resources in the state.
State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, stated this during the 17th Convocation and Award of Certificates Ceremony of the institution held at Shao, in Moro Local Government Area of the state.
Dr. El-Imam commended the management of the college for maintaining high academic standards and urged them to sustain their commitment to excellence in training health workers.
She noted that the college has continued to complement government efforts in addressing the shortage of skilled health manpower in the state.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu represented by Director Tertiary Education of the Ministry, Mrs Sheriffat Giwa praised the institution’s management for their consistency in quality teaching and learning,
Hajia Modibbo-Kawu identified the college as a a dependable partner in the state’s quest to strengthen the health sector.
In his address, the Provost of the College, Dr. Bartholomew Owoicho, congratulated the graduating students for their perseverance, discipline, and hard work throughout their academic pursuit.
Dr Owoicho charged them to uphold professionalism, ethical standards, and dedication to community service as they begin their careers in the health sector.
He further appreciated the Kwara State Government and the Ministry of Tertiary Education for their continuous support and contributions towards the growth and development of the institution.
In his submission, the Ohoro of Shao, Oba Job Obolowu Atolagbe counseled graduating students to always adhere strictly to the ethics of their professionals.
Oba Atolagbe applauded the institution for its consistency in grooming health human resources.
About 400 students from various departments including Community Health, Public Health, Pharmaceutical, Health Technician, Health Assistant and Health Technician graduated
The colourful event attracted dignitaries from the health sector, traditional rulers, government officials, parents, and well-wishers, all of whom gathered to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students.
